Sarah Russell

I’m currently the Executive Director of Mason Area Chamber of Commerce. I grew up in Mason and graduated from Mason High School. I left for 12 years and came back 2 years ago. I LOVE MASON! I moved back to Mason to be with my wonderful Oesterle family.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have 3 wonderful children: Lily (11) and twins Wyatt & Claire (9).

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I have been a stay-at-home mom for 6 years. After my divorce, I worked in the Real Estate field as Director of Operations for Real Estate Services. Community involvement with business owners. Love bringing community events to Mason. I love connecting with people.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Bad Brewing and A&W.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
2 years, most recently.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Jamie Robinson, because I see her as a mentor and a friend. She represents Mason.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Back to North Carolina to see my friends.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
The Notebook is my favorite movie. Schitt’s Creek and New Girls are my favorite TV shows.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
To share your passion with others and the greatest gift is kindness.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
To see Celine Dion in Las Vegas.

Q: Who is your “go-to” band when you can’t decide what music you want to hear?
Chris Stapleton.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Dairy Hill.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Kristi Snyder-Former boss & business mentor. I would take her to the Vault and order her a #13.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Christmas Lighted Parade.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Still loving what I’m doing now!

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I was a military wife for 11 years. We went through 8 deployments in 10 years.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Napa Valley, California.

Q: Favorite month? Favorite holiday? Best single day on the calendar?
October. Christmas. July 15 & Aug. 19.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
#13 sandwich at the Vault Deli.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My kids.

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
Lavender and coffee.
