Gregg Todd

I currently serve as the Ingham County Controller/Administrator, I have been in local/state government for the past 22 years. We moved to Michigan from Maryland in August of 2020 to serve as the Ingham County Administrator.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My wife is the Director of Planning for the Spicer Group in East Lansing, we have two daughters, Paige, 23 is a research coordinator for Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and Abbey, 19 is a sophomore at the University of Michigan.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I love the ability to help our citizens.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Klavons in Mason and Maru in East Lansing.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
18 months.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Mark Grebner.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Poland to help with the Ukrainian refugees.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Rockford Files.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Be patient, kind, and smile!

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Go to Australia.

Q: Who is your “go-to” band when you can’t decide what music you want to hear?
Anything on Yacht Rock.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Keans.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Record producer Rick Rubin, we would grab sandwiches from Klavons and eat in the park.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
The great people!

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
In 5 years I’ll still be at Ingham County.  In 10 years I plan to be retired!

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I used to build golf courses.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
The Museum d’ Orsay in Paris.

Q: Favorite month? Favorite holiday? Best single day on the calendar?
October. Christmas.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A round of golf on a beautiful day!

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My wife.

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
The fresh smell of Spring.
